What can you do for SEO inside Heroic? Here are some specific actions you can take to make sure your Heroic site is primed for ranking in search engines, if you've already done these you are awesome, otherwise it's worth taking a look: Specify a "Site Name" and "Site Description" under Settings -> Site Settings -> General 'site_settings.png For each page on your website, specify a unique and meaningful Page URL, you can do this in the Page Settings menu. For example https://myheroicsite/contact-us is better and more descriptive than https://myheroicsite/page12341 for the "Contact Us" page. Short, descriptive URLs help searchers to understand what the page is about. Most of the time, the simplest way to create short, descriptive URLs is to set your primary keyword as the URL slug. We do this with most of our blog posts. 'page_url.png For each page on your website, specify a good and UNIQUE Page Name for SEO (which is the meta title for the page) and Page Description for SEO (which is the meta description for the page). These attributes are used by Google to display results from searches. You can find these fields in the Page Settings menu. There are many tutorials online on how to write great meta titles and meta descriptions. 'seo_settings.png When it comes to adding images to your website, use a tool to resize them first, then make sure you give them a meaningful name and specify the image description / alt text in the contextual menu in Heroic. You can include your keywords in the image name and alt text. Test your website and make sure you do not have any internal broken links Remove unnecessary third party code, snippets, integrations etc. Only keep what you need. Additional javascript etc. from third party can affect the website speed, which is an important ranking factor as explained earlier. So we recommend using them sparingly and only when necessary (also remove them if no longer needed). Use headers and bold text to separate and highlight the content on your pages Avoid duplicate content or thin content If you take these actions on your Heroic website you should then be in a very good place from an on-page SEO point of view. Then remember what matters more than anything else, which is writing great, in depth content that is relevant and helpful to your audience. If you choose a topic or a keyword, aim as much as possible at writing the best piece of content on the internet around that particular topic or keyword (check out the Skyscraper Technique).
